    Animate Helston is a festival and celebration of animated film held at the Museum of Cornish Life. About This year, as part of the Cornwall Film Festival we will be celebrating everything experimental about film on Friday 10th and Saturday 11th November, in partnership with CMR Project Space, Redruth. In 2011, Cornwall Media Resource was rebranded and relaunched as CMR and has since been developed into an artist-led residency, exhibition and project space for established and emerging artists from within Cornwall as well as nationally and internationally, aiming to provide resources and space for experimentation, learning and development through residencies, screenings, workshops, talks, exhibitions and social and skill-sharing events. With an interest in the interpretive and exploratory possibilities of cookery, they have produced meals for audiences in a range of non-traditional settings, inviting collaboration and generosity through the preparation and sharing of food. We will give you an opportunity to work across all our organisational strands - festival, industry and events, community, education, and charity to gain valuable experience in varied roles within the creative industry. You may work as a production assistant on one of our live events or online masterclasses; a researcher or content creator for our social media; a designer of digital assets for one of our programmes or an event planner for one of our live events. We are looking for adaptable and enthusiastic people who are ready for a challenge and want to try their hand at lots of different roles within the media. Interns will be supported through their time at Mor Media via regular meetings and monitoring via their activity log sheet and development logs. This will also feed into the completion of an Award which will see them complete two units, one will be linked to the creative skills needed to complete work required by the role, and one will be a reflective evaluation on the work they have done during their internship.

Lee is a renowned fantasy illustrator known for his illustrations bringing to life the world of Middle-Earth, and his Academy Award-winning work on The Lord of the Rings film trilogy. He’ll be joining us to discuss his work and his contributions to the latest illustrated Tolkien compendium THE FALL OF NÚMENOR and Other Tales from the Second Age of Middle-Earth by J.R.R. Together we are asking you to uncover the stories behind the shopfronts and post your own photographs on Instagram using #PicturingHighStreets. We've found the biggest barrier to attending events is not being able to afford the ticket price. In order to overcome that barrier, we're removing the ticket price and asking audiences to simply pay what they can so we can welcome more people to the festival experience and inspire wider audiences. Here are some handy prompts At the £2 - I have no access to savings - I am under or unemployed - I can not afford time off and rarely afford clothes, cinema & books At £4 - -I often stress about how to pay my bills & don't always achieve them - I am employed but don't have regular hours - I can take time off and do go on holidays & occasionally buy new items At £8 - I can comfortably meet my bills and needs - I own private transport and can afford to fuel it - I have access to savings and have my own property or choose where I rent Can I get a festival pass ? Not this year sorry we have too many events to manage a pass - but please tell us if we need to sort this out for next year ! we are always open to suggestions. Can I book in person? Yes, for events at The Poly, please visit the venue, or call the box office on 01326 319461 What happens if I lose my tickets? Our Box Office team will be happy to help you. Just go to the counter before the event. You may be required to confirm your name, address and payment method. Could you send me a brochure? We are currently sending most of our communications via email & social networks, however, we can post you a flyer of events. If you'd like to receive news about events and other programmes please join our mailing list.
