YOUNG SOUL REBELS

Set during London’s 1977 Silver Jubilee celebrations, Isaac Julien’s groundbreaking film follows two pirate radio DJs whose friendship is tested following the murder of a close friend. Blending race, sexuality, politics and music culture, it remains one of Britain’s defining films about youth identity and belonging.

Based on The Who’s iconic album, Quadrophenia follows Jimmy, a young Mod searching for identity during the clashes between Mods and Rockers. It remains one of Britain’s greatest youth films, exploring friendship, rebellion and the need to belong.

Films don’t just entertain us. They help us find our people.

Whether you’re into heavy metal, Mods, indie cinema, queer film, or cosplay, fandom builds communities that inspire creativity, friendship, and belonging.

 

Come along to a DIY fanzine workshop 5.30 - 7 pm with a break.

Pay What You Can tickets with a £2 minimum

 

Create a 6-page folded fanzine exploring your Favourite films / Music / Fashion/ Fan communities/ Personal heroes/ Creative influences

 

Some material will be provided but you might like to bring along photocopied images / Magazines/ Special Pens / Stickers / Letraset-style lettering / Scissors / Glue / Colour paper

 

Everyone leaves with a finished DIY fanzine.

 

After the workshop, you are invited to stay for the Classic Queer film BEAUTIFUL THING
