Are you South West Based? This is for you! You will have the opportunity to critically judge and select award-winning short films, have meetings with industry-relevant professionals and write about film for our New Wave Journal. Set during an all-consuming heatwave, the film follows a lone figure spiralling into psychosis as the world boils and rots around him. GLIMPSE ULRIKE SWOBODA-OSTERMANN Deep in rural Cornwall, autistic Thomas loves to read. Retreating from a world he finds sensorily challenging, he spends all day buried in books, telling himself stories of heroes and epic quests. When a flying football starts a new friendship with sporty Agnes, Thomas initially finds it hard to relate and let her into his world. This distance between them means that Agnes becomes bored with Thomas’ storytelling, forcing Thomas to use his incredible creativity to make new stories for them both. Through their burgeoning relationship, he learns how to express himself creatively, empathise and learn from others, making his unique experience of the world around him more understandable and manageable. In 2021 Cornwall Film Festival changed it's name to Mor Media Charity to incorporate the wide range of work the charity does across the year. Cornwall Film Festival still forms the core of MMC and we look forward to welcoming you to CFF2024 in Falmouth and across Cornwall. If your film is shortlisted your work will be judged by our panel of expert judges This included in 2020 Andy De Emmony (The Last Kingdom, Four Kids & It), Kate Cheesman (Call the Midwife), Joss Agnew (Poldark), Yazmin Joy Vigus (Mermaids) and many more. Pay what you can is our innovative affordable ticket scheme, run successfully over the last 2 editions of the festival. We've found the biggest barrier to attending events is not being able to afford the ticket price. In order to overcome that barrier, we're removing the ticket price and asking audiences to simply pay what they can so we can welcome more people to the festival experience and inspire wider audiences. Here are some handy prompts At the £2 - I have no access to savings - I am under or unemployed - I can not afford time off and rarely afford clothes, cinema & books At £4 - -I often stress about how to pay my bills & don't always achieve them - I am employed but don't have regular hours - I can take time off and do go on holidays & occasionally buy new items At £8 - I can comfortably meet my bills and needs - I own private transport and can afford to fuel it - I have access to savings and have my own property or choose where I rent Can I get a festival pass ?
